Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) Housing Buildings Façade Restoration
Batska Consulting Group is leading a comprehensive exterior restoration across three academic housing buildings at 1925, 1935, and 1945 Eastchester Road to address violations and achieve compliance with Local Law 11 and NYC Department of Buildings regulations. The project scope includes parapet reconstruction, masonry repair and replacement, repointing, sealant installation, and waterproofing enhancements to restore the building envelope and ensure long-term resiliency. These improvements are designed to address existing violations, mitigate future risks, and extend the useful life of the housing facilities that support Montefiore and Einstein’s academic community.
Because the buildings remain fully occupied, execution requires meticulous planning and coordination. Construction activities are phased to maintain resident access and safety, with protective measures in place for noise, dust, and debris. Batska has coordinated closely with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to develop compliant construction documents, secure approvals, and manage field operations. Value-engineering strategies are being applied to optimize costs while ensuring durability and adherence to DOB standards.
The restoration program is progressing on schedule and will result in full DOB sign-off across all three properties. The improvements not only resolve immediate compliance issues but also strengthen the structural and weatherproofing performance of the housing complex. By investing in safe, code-compliant residences for faculty, staff, and students, Montefiore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine reaffirm their commitment to maintaining high-quality facilities that support education, research, and community well-being.
