GSH Generator Renovation

Gracie Square Hospital recently completed a comprehensive upgrade of its electrical infrastructure, which included the replacement of the building’s generator and the installation of a new permanent electrical power service provided by Con Edison. The scope of work encompassed a modernization of the hospital’s electrical system. This included the construction of new electrical closets on each floor, installation of switchgear equipment, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and the implementation of a permanent electrical service connection from the street to supply power to the entire facility. In addition to the electrical system replacement, a new exhaust fan system was installed to support temperature regulation within the generator room. Due to the operational nature of the hospital, the project was executed in carefully planned phases. This approach was necessary to mitigate disruptions on active patient floors, adhere to stringent infection control protocols, coordination with hospital leadership to maintain a safe and uninterrupted care environment.
