Moses Main Campus Garage Program
This multi-phase, $14.5 million capital improvement program encompassed structural remediation and fire protection upgrades at Montefiore’s flagship Moses Campus Garage, a critical facility serving hospital staff, patients, and emergency traffic. The scope integrated Local Law 126 compliance, extensive structural rehabilitation, and the complete replacement of the standpipe system. These improvements were designed to extend the service life of the facility, reinforce safety, and ensure compliance with New York City requirements.
Given the facility’s continuous use, construction was strategically sequenced to maintain safe access and traffic flow. Structural work was staged to preserve parking availability, while fire protection upgrades were phased to keep systems active throughout construction. Coordination with Montefiore leadership, facilities staff, and regulatory agencies was essential to balance patient care, emergency access, and compliance requirements.
The resulting improvements deliver a safer, more resilient garage that supports the hospital’s day-to-day operations and long-term mission. By strengthening structural integrity and integrating modern fire protection, the project ensures the facility will continue to serve as a reliable resource for Montefiore’s patients, staff, and community.
