OR Staff Lockers + Staff Lounge + Patient Waiting Room
As part of an ongoing effort to improve hospital infrastructure and enhance the experience of both staff and patients, NewYork-Presbyterian completed a comprehensive renovation of its Primary Operating Room (OR) Staff Locker Room, Staff Lounge, and adjacent Patient Waiting Room. Serving approximately 450 staff members, these upgraded spaces were designed to improve workflow efficiency while fostering a more comfortable and supportive environment.
The project encompassed modernized locker room amenities, including improved storage solutions and upgraded facilities to accommodate the needs of a high-volume surgical team. The Staff Lounge underwent a revitalization to offer personnel a restful space for breaks, providing an updated design that encourages relaxation and recovery between demanding shifts. Meanwhile, the adjacent Patient Waiting Room received a refreshed aesthetic, with new seating, lighting, and accessibility enhancements aimed at creating a more welcoming atmosphere for families and visitors.
Close coordination with hospital administration and facilities teams ensured that the renovations met both operational and regulatory standards. These improvements underscore NewYork-Presbyterian’s commitment to supporting the well-being of its staff while maintaining patient-centered care throughout its facilities.
