Phillips Parapet and Facade Repairs

This project involved the complete demolition and replacement of the building’s existing brick parapet, which had developed failing structural components that posed concerns for both safety and long-term integrity. The deteriorated masonry was carefully removed in its entirety and replaced with a modern metal railing system designed to provide durability, code compliance, and a refreshed exterior appearance. In addition to the parapet replacement, the project included a series of exterior upgrades to protect the building envelope and extend its useful life. The façade underwent comprehensive repointing to restore mortar joints and improve weather resistance. All windows were resealed to eliminate air and water infiltration, and the exterior surfaces were repainted to provide a clean, modern aesthetic. Together, these improvements significantly enhanced both the building’s performance and its curb appeal. Given the scope of work, detailed planning and safety measures were essential. Work was performed at height, requiring scaffolding, fall protection, and close coordination to maintain safe conditions for occupants and passersby. Phasing and scheduling were carefully managed to minimize disruption to daily building operations while ensuring the project remained on time and within budget. The completed project delivered a structurally sound, weather-tight, and visually refreshed building exterior, improving safety, extending building longevity, and creating a more attractive presence within the community.
